I’m back online after 4 months without a decent connection.
Ouch.

To make a long story short, the “historical” phone provider which still owns the local loop, put my ADSL line on their network instead of my ISP’s one and took 4 months to fix the problem. Welcome in Belgium. Oh, and they were charging me “Movies on Demand” and other services I never used. Great.

I’ll spare you the dozens of phone calls, letters, lawyer letters and the confrontation to a constant WTF.

This is now fixed, they refunded the extra charges and gave me a whopping €80 as a commercial gesture.

Lessons learned:

• Try to avoid moving from one place to another in Belgium at any cost. We had problems with every services except water.
• I’m very used to broadband. 3.5 K/s is even worst now that it was back in the days. I stopped almost every web activities except email.
• I can survive 4 month with almost no Internet.

This is of course my (good) excuse for not blogging.
